Vegas First Timers
Las Vegas is truly its own little world and even though it may appear small, there is so much to do and see here.
To make things easier, book a hotel where most of your activities are. Especially in the summer where the street heat is closer to 110 degrees, no one including your loved ones will want to sit inside a hot car or melt your soles on Vegas Blvd. My recommendation is dependent on what your trip is for – if its to party, then Wynn is your best bet. If it’s a romantic get-away, go with Paris / Bellagio. If its for shopping, Cesar’s is good.
The one place where you do want to go when the weather gets sweltering hot is the the pool. The best thing about vegas is that you don’t need to go to your hotel pool if it really sucks. For the best looking people go to Wynn’s hotel.
One thing you must go to is a big Vegas show. Circus du Soleil is the standard of what a Vegas show should be, big, loud and in your face with death defying tricks. If you want to really go all out, try to get tickets to Celine Dion or a big UFC fight.
Vegas is gambling, so everyone going must try it once. My recommendation is to go to a subar hotel casino where the minimums are at $2-$5 such as Excalibur or Circus / Circus / Boardwalk. They also have times where dealers will actually teach you and give you lessons for free =). The best plan for a first time gamblers is to have a budget that you wont exceed.
No trip is complete without food. My recipe for a successful eating trip is to try the full spectrum of Vegas food. Try at least one great buffet, for quantity – go with the Rio. For quality, go with Bellagio. Try at least one cheap eats, my favorite is the .25 cent wings at Hooters hotel. The last night before you leave, eat at one great restaurant, I recommend Joe’s inside Cesar’s Palace, that place is really to die for – esp. the black crab claws.
